Baidu launches a bone Yi, Dell will provide equipment

Baidu, a name to the West is virtually unknown but in China represents the most powerful Google search engine, it has launched its own operating system called Yi. Interestingly, yi OS is a fork of Android and Baidu will provide their own applications and services in the way of Google’s Android, including maps, electronic books, music, storage in the cloud, etc.
According to Reuters, Baidu has joined Dell as a partner so that it can produce tablets, and phones with OS Yi and some sources indicate that these devices could launch as early as November.
Fork of Android in China is not new. Videophone, published by the China Mobile operator, is also based on a mobile operating system from Google.
